Tell us what is wrong and we'll fix it.
Part Three. You will hear two students planning a seminar on renewable energy with their tutor.
First, you have some time to look at questions twenty-one to twenty-six.
Now listen carefully and answer questions twenty-one to twenty-six.
Hello, you two! Have you chosen a focus for your seminar yet?
Yes! We want to compare solar and wind power.
Well... we haven't completely agreed on that yet.
Oh? What's the disagreement?
I think we should focus on wind, especially offshore wind farms.
Britain gets more electricity from wind than from any other renewable.
But everyone talks about wind! Solar is far more interesting.
The price of solar panels has fallen dramatically in ten years.
Okay, you could actually use that contrast in your seminar.
Present both, then ask the group which one has more potential.
Oh! A debate format? I hadn't thought of that.
That would definitely keep people awake on a Friday afternoon.
Ha, that's always the real challenge, isn't it?
Before you hear the rest of the conversation, you have some time to look at questions twenty-seven to thirty.
Now listen and answer questions twenty-seven to thirty.
So, how are you going to divide the work?
I'll research the costs and find some recent figures.
And I'll look at the environmental impact on wildlife.
Hmm, be careful. Some of those sources are quite out of date.
Oh, I'm afraid most of my sources are over ten years old.
Don't worry. The library has a database with newer studies.
What about visuals? Should we make a handout?
Ugh, nobody ever reads handouts. Let's do a short video instead.
Um, a video takes ages to make, though...
Keep it simple. One clear chart is better than a long video.
Oh. I was really looking forward to filming that.
Right. Send me your plan by next Wednesday.
We will! Thanks so much for your help.
And I'll save my filming skills for the next project!
That is the end of Part Three.
