Part One. You will hear a man phoning a climbing centre about a birthday party.
First, you have some time to look at questions one to five.
Now listen carefully and answer questions one to five.
Hi there, Summit Climbing Centre! This is Jess.
Oh, hello! I'm calling about a birthday party for my son.
Fantastic! How old is he going to be?
He'll be nine on the 22nd of May.
Great age for climbing! How many children are coming?
Well... about twelve, I think.
Okay, our party room holds up to fifteen kids.
Lovely. And how much does it cost?
It's £14 per child for ninety minutes.
£14 each? Wow, that adds up!
But the birthday boy climbs for free!
Ha, well, that's something!
And which day were you thinking of?
Saturday the 24th, in the afternoon if possible.
Let me see... I've got 2:30 or 4:15.
2:30 is better. Then they're home for dinner.
Before you hear the rest of the conversation, you have some time to look at questions six to ten.
Now listen and answer questions six to ten.
Now, would you like food after the climbing?
Yes, please. What are the options?
There's pizza at £4 a head, or sandwiches at £3.50.
Pizza, definitely! They'd never forgive me otherwise!
Just so you know, every child needs a signed form from a parent.
Oh no. Collecting twelve forms? That sounds stressful.
Don't worry. Parents can fill it in online.
Oh, that's a relief!
Also, they should wear trainers, not sandals.
To book, we just need a £30 deposit.
Sure. Can I pay by card now?
Of course! Can I take your surname first?
It's Brennan. B-R-E-N-N-A-N.
Lovely. He's going to have a brilliant time!
That is the end of Part One.
