Every weekday, my alarm goes off at a quarter to seven. This morning, I opened the curtains and... ugh, rain again! I've lived in this city for three years, and honestly, I've never got used to the weather. Still, I grabbed my umbrella and left at seven fifteen. First, I walk to the bus stop at the end of my street. The number forty-two is usually on time, which is lovely. But today? It was twenty minutes late! Oh, I was so cold... standing there in the rain. Then, just as I was about to give up, there it was! On the bus, I always try to get my favourite seat. It's upstairs, right at the front, the best view in town! Oh. Sadly, a schoolboy had already taken it. Ha, so I sat at the back and tried not to sulk. The bus took me to the train station in fifteen minutes. Oh no. At the station, I found out my train was cancelled. What if I missed my nine o'clock meeting? Well... I must have looked pretty stressed, because an older woman next to me smiled and said hello. She said, Why not take the fast train from platform six? Wow, she was right, and it was leaving in two minutes! We ran together, and we both made it! I thanked her about five times, honestly! From my stop, it's a ten-minute walk to the office. And guess what? The rain had stopped! The streets were shining, and the air smelled fresh. I got to my desk at five to nine, a little wet but happy. Okay, some days my commute drives me crazy, but days like this remind me that people are kind. Now, if only the forty-two could be on time tomorrow!
