Did you manage to watch that documentary about coral reefs last night?

I did, and I found the underwater footage absolutely breathtaking.

So did I, though the second half was rather depressing.

Yes, seeing entire reefs turn white was genuinely heartbreaking.

I appreciated that they ended on a slightly more hopeful note, though.

You mean the scientists growing coral in nurseries and replanting it?

Exactly. It showed that individuals can still make a meaningful difference.

I suppose it's a reminder that despair isn't the only reasonable response.
