Learning a new language takes time and patience. Many people give up because they expect fast results. It is better to study a little every day than a lot once a week. Try to listen to the language while you cook or walk. Write down new words and use them in your own sentences. Do not be afraid of making mistakes when you speak. Mistakes show you what you still need to practise. Watching films in that language can also help a lot. Most importantly, choose topics that you really enjoy.
